Plumbing Inspector and Mechanical Inspector

Houghton County will be accepting applications for both a Plumbing Inspector and Mechanical Inspector. Qualified applicants may apply for both positions. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to become registered with the State of Michigan, as required by Act 54 of 1986.

Qualifications include:

Mechanical Inspector Rule 43.
An applicant for registration as a provisional mechanical inspector shall have possessed a mechanical license for not less than 1 year in 3 or more categories 1, 2, 4, or 9 as defined in 1984 PA 192, MCL 338.971 to MCL 338.988 (the Forbes Mechanical Contractor's Act).

Plumbing Inspector Rule 46.
An applicant for registration as a provisional plumbing inspector shall have possessed a journey license for not less than 2 years or shall be licensed as a master plumber under the provisions of the State Plumbing Act, 2002 PA 733, MCL 338.3511 to 338.3569.

Equalization Director

Houghton County is accepting applications for the position of Equalization Director. Applicants must possess a Level III State of Michigan Assessor's Certification.
