Assistant Prosecuting Attorney

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney - Houghton County

Duties: The responsibilities of an Assistant Prosecutor include: the analysis of warrant requests; conducting pretrial conferences, bench trials and jury trials; working with other law enforcement agencies for the drafting of search warrants; and any other duties as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney.

Requirements: Must be licensed by the State Bar of Michigan. Applicants that have sat for the July 2018 Bar Exam are eligible to apply, but employment is conditional upon passing the Bar and Character and Fitness.

Financial Information: $50,791 plus benefits

Transfer Station Driver/Operator/Laborer

The Houghton County Transfer Station is accepting applications for a full time Driver/Operator/Laborer.

Requirements include but not limited to:
CDL Class A
Equipment Operator
General Equipment maintenance
Scale house

Full-Time Plumbing / Mechanical Inspector

Houghton County will be accepting applications for a full-time Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to become registered with the State of Michigan, as required by Act 54 of 1986.

Qualifications include:

Mechanical Inspector Rule 43.
An applicant for registration as a provisional mechanical inspector shall have possessed a mechanical license for not less than 1 year in 3 or more categories 1, 2, 4, or 9 as defined in 1984 PA 192, MCL 338.971 to MCL 338.988 (the Forbes Mechanical Contractor's Act).

Plumbing Inspector Rule 46.
An applicant for registration as a provisional plumbing inspector shall have possessed a journey license for not less than 2 years or shall be licensed as a master plumber under the provisions of the State Plumbing Act, 2002 PA 733, MCL 338.3511 to 338.3569.
