Deputy Family Court Clerk

The Houghton County Family Court has an opening for a full-time Deputy Family Court Clerk. This is a salaried position starting at $43,506.00 and is non-union. Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in a legal setting, the ability to use standard dictation equipment, and have excellent typing, grammar, and clerical skills. Friend of the Court Director

The 12th Circuit Court Friend of the Court Office (FOC) is responsible for the enforcement of domestic relations orders of the 12th Judicial Circuit Court. Additionally, the FOC investigates parties and circumstances involved in domestic relations cases and makes recommendations to the Court regarding custody, parenting time and/or support. The Friend of the Court Director has the ultimate responsibility to ensure the FOC team meets these statutorily mandated duties.

Part-Time Cook

The Houghton County Sheriff's Office is looking for a part- time cook. The opening for this position includes preparing meals for inmates, overseeing the daily cleanup of the kitchen. The hours for this position are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every other Saturday and Sunday some weekdays when needed. Starting hourly rate is $18.00.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney - Houghton County

Duties: The responsibilities of an Assistant Prosecutor include: the analysis of warrant requests; conducting pretrial conferences, bench trials and jury trials; and any other duties as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney and Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Caseload will
include matters in probate and family court, and both misdemeanor and felony cases.

Requirements: Must be licensed by the State Bar of Michigan. Applicants that have sat for the July 2022 Bar Exam are eligible to apply, but employment is conditioned upon passing the Bar and Character and Fitness.

Financial Information: $55,990.00 - $69,051.00, depending on experience level, plus benefits
