Brownfield Redevelopment Authority

The Houghton County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (HCBRA) was established in 2007 for the purpose of promoting the redevelopment of blighted, obsolete or tax reverted properties within Houghton County.

The HCBRA can provide significant incentives to developers to facilitate the redevelopment of qualifying sites throughout the County. The primary incentives include the use of tax increment financing authorities (TIF) along with the management of brownfield grants and loans.

If you are considering a development project within Houghton County, please review the HCBRA's Policies and Procedures by clicking below for more details on how the Authority may be able to assist you.
